Christmas Day

Merry Christmas!

Everything is hectic right now, trying to pull together the final threads of my Ireland trip while finding a home for Maxi. It's nice to relax for a day and focus on family and fun. My christmas came early this year as my generous mother brought me to Bahr's Saddlery to go on a spree. I was lucky to get some Pikeur show breeches, Fits breeches and Willow Tailored Sportsmans. I also picked up those Grand Prix rain pants to wear on those rainy show days in Ireland. Along with a new grey showjacket and and a couple Ariat rain jackets and sweaters, I got some serious footwear. I must say my favourite purchase was the Franco Tucci T-Grip Half Chaps.

These babies let your legs stick to the saddle like glue. Every equestrian that rides multiple horses a day needs to invest in this half chap, in combination with the Fits breeches... It makes holding your leg and seat position a breeze (even in a bouncy sitting trot). They work together to strengthen your base of support, serious preforming enhancing technology. I also bought the DeNiro Field Boot because my Tuscany boots wore out within three months!

Riding many horses a day really takes a toll on your tack, and I strongly dislike the "soft leather" boots. I prefer the harder leather that stays strong through the serious friction of your calf against the horses side.

After this shopping spree I am definitely ready to go to Ireland. Now my only concern is shipping it over. I'm not sure how I'm going to pack all my clothes and all my riding necessities, including helmet, boots, saddle pads and saddle. I bought a carry on bag for my saddle as I don't want to let that out of my sight! I doubt the airoport workers know how to treat a Delgrange saddle. Well I'll eventually figure that out, among other things.

Merry Christmas!
